TXA Guidelines
Contraindications:
• Thromboembolic disease (h/o DVT, PE or stroke within the last 1 year)
• Currently on long term anticoagulation therapy (e.g. Warfarin, Dabigatran, Apixaban, Rivaroxaban, Edoxaban), excluding anti-platelet drugs,
and requires bridging anticoagulation
• Risk of arterial thrombosis (Coronary or vascular stent within last 1 year)
• Coagulopathy/DIC/active intravascular clotting
• Hypercoagulable state/disease (e.g. Anticardiolipin syndrome, antiphospholipid antibody, Factor V Leiden, Protein C and S deficiencies, thrombophilia, malignancy)
• Concomitant use of clotting factor concentrates or anti-inhibitor coagulant concentrates
• Severe ischemic cardiac disease (multivessel disease, low output CHF)
• Intracranial hemorrhage in the last 3 months
• Retinal artery or vein occlusion in the last 3 months
• Acquired color vision defect
• Severe allergic reaction to TXA
Anesthetic ( GA, MAC, Regional)
Airway : (Oral/ Nasal; difficult intubation/mask)
Special Meds in the last 30 min ( Vasopressors, Insulin, LA, Naloxone)
Disposition (Ward, Home, Tele, ICU, Pulse Ox, EtCO2)
Pain Management plan
PMHx ( pertinent history)
I/O (Fluoids, EBL, u/o)
